CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The employee agrees that, as part of the qualifications for this position, they are a “born-again” Christian who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior (John 3:3, 1 Peter 1:23). I accept without verbal or mental reservations Pine Castle Christian Academy’s Statement of Faith, Statement of Purpose, Mission Statement and Vision Statement, and is committed to upholding it. Our employees also give testimony that teaching is a spiritual calling and that teaching in this Christian school is God’s direction for their life for this school year.

All employees of PCCA are considered ministers of PCCA and play a vital and integral role in upholding the religious character and mission of the school. Our employees understand that they will be expected to regularly engage in activities in which their belief in and adherence to the ministry’s statement of faith are an integral part. This includes leading staff devotions and/or prayer as requested, starting classes with scripture and prayer, presenting all academics within the context of a biblical worldview, regularly communicating with students and parents about how and why the Bible is our foundation and authority, and other ministerial-type duties.

  • Our employees agree to manifest by daily example the highest Christian virtue by serving as a Christian role model (1 Timothy 4:12) both in and out of school to pupils (Luke 6:40), parents, and fellow employees. We agree that instruction is not only through rational explanation of formal subject material, but even more powerfully through word, deed, example, and shared experience. We must agree to be a role model in judgment, dignity, respect, and Christian living. We must also agree that the school has sole discretion to determine if at any time my attitude, actions, teaching philosophies, lifestyle, or communications conflict with the statement of faith, code of conduct, philosophies, and/or objectives of the school and that discipline, up to and including termination, may result if an employee found to be in conflict in these areas.

  • Our employees agree to accept the School Board’s interpretation of biblical standards for my sexual behavior.  That any sexual misconduct – including, but not limited to – premarital, extramarital, or homosexual activity; sexual harassment; use or viewing of pornographic material or websites; and sexual and physical abuse of children is forbidden and violates the employment requirement of being a Christian role model.  We agree that such behaviors are grounds for immediate dismissal from my teaching position of ministering to children and that any reasonable suspicion of abuse will be immediately reported to the appropriate government officials. We agree that the unique roles of the male and female are clearly defined in Scripture and that Romans 1:24-32 condemns the homosexual lifestyle (Romans 12:1-2; 1 Cor. 6:9-20; Ephesians 4:1-11, 5:3-5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8; 1 Timothy 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:19-22; 1 Peter 1:15-16, 2:15-17; 1 John 3:1-3).
  • Our employees are expected to reflect a Christian testimony and be role models in and out of school.  Pine Castle Christian’s policies against discrimination or other harassment apply to internet communications.  Therefore, any internet communications that adversely affect the employees’ or the school’s Christian testimony, that contain confidential student or parent information, that contain confidential school information, that disparage the school or other employees or officers, or that violate the school’s anti-discrimination /anti-harassment policies may result in requests to remove the communications and in employee discipline, including termination.  The school shall hold employees personally responsible for all material they post or blog on a website or for content posted by third parties to employees’ social networking blogs.
